Apparently this is ...

Progress log

This is a log of my efforts to analyze texts, and in the process learn solid grammar and syntax. This is how I have learned to deal with ancient texts: First I underline the verbs Then I circle the words that introduce secondary sentences Then I find objects, subjects, participles etc. That is a pre...

Re: Best way to start

Oh, those differences are the trouble makers in my case  I don't have a book about that exactly, but the explanation I talked about is more of an interpretation, so that's a big help. And I have all those vocabulary/grammar/syntax books, not to mention the onlline sources. No lack of resources,...

Re: Psyche

You may find it interesting to know that in modern greek as well, it is used sometimes for that moth night thing, but also for small butterflies. When one visits you after a person has died, people say that the dead soul has visited you. Not language info, but still...

Best way to start

I have been asking myself how to start getting into koine greek. Should I use a "ready" method, like a textbook or something? Should I start reading and analyzing the biblical texts right away? If so, which text would you recommend? The poll is just for fun :) I'd like to hear some advice,...
