Re: εγω ειμι
Bryant J. Williams, III Thank you for the time-consuming answer you put together. It is appreciated very much. It also confirmed my suspicion that εγω ειμι is derived (in the NT), not from the Ex 3.14 passage, but the ones in Isaiah. Thanks again for such an elaborate answer. In the future, just mak...

I have a question about the NT's use of the OT's εγω ειμι. Most commentators reference Exodus 3:14 as the origin of εγω ειμι, but in Exodus 3, εγω ειμι simply introduces God's name; it is not a part of it.

Re: Publishing a volume on The Article in Koine Greek
Dr. King,
Have you checked with Dr. Dan Wallace? I think he has done extensive work with the Koine DA. Perhaps he would be willing to contribute a section or two of his work or, who knows, maybe a new article.
Just a thought.

Re: Historical Presents in the Gospel of John
In John 13.22 and 13.24 two HPs are used. Both are λέγει. You are going to get yelled at for not putting the Greek verses in your email.

I don't understand what you're saying. On the one hand, you're saying that John has a problem or struggle with grammar and that the placement is crude or perhaps less formal, but on the other hand you're saying that it is not a mistake and still acceptable. So what is it? Good grammar or bad? And i...

The NA28 text of this verse has an unusual position of the γάρ, after both ὁ λέγων instead between them, as read in the Byzantine text (ὁ γὰρ λέγων [αὐτῷ] χαίρειν, with a split within this textual tradition on whethe...

Re: Wallace, Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics
Dr. Conrad wrote: As to the surprise I must chime in: "Me too!" I've voiced my amusement in many an "ad nauseam" comment on Wallace's penchant for practicing the fine art of hair-splitting on the adnominal genitive. It certainly does require chutzpah to invent an "aporetic g...
