Re: BibleWorks Greek Lexicon by Gingrich

Thanks, Jason! Exactly what I needed. Now, can I bother you for another one? I need to know the same thing for Danker. Greek–New Testament Lexicon . Bibleworks 10. I promise, that's the last one : ) But, I sure do miss BibleWorks sometimes. It was the first Bible software program I used; I remember ...

BibleWorks Greek Lexicon by Gingrich

All, Does anyone have a working copy of BibleWorks and can check something for me? I can no longer run mine because MacOS discontinued supporting older 32-bit programs. (I haven't tried their 64-bit installer yet, but the user forum remarks aren't encouraging.) I've run into a reference to Gingrich,...

Re: Kantor - The Pronunciation of New Testament Greek

Ask Randall Buth, a long-time contributor here. He has tapes and a live-in institute in Israel:

He's done a good deal of work on the ancient papyri, recreating the ancient dialects. According to him, there is a great deal of value (and I would agree).

Re: Difference between βλεπω and θεωρεω?

Word of caution (probably too late), but the Middle Liddell doesn't contain all the words in the NT/Apostolic Fathers. It was designed for the intermediate Classics student, not the Koine student. The Little Liddell has all the words in the NT. But, you really are better off getting BDAG—or at least...

Re: Verb aspect debate outside of Koine

Hope you enjoy it. Some of the contributors are active on this forum. As for the older grammars downplaying/ignoring aspect, take a look at Mike Aubrey's blog: https://koine-greek.com/ He's done a lot of work in that area and basically the problem is that they didn't have the linguistic terminology ...

Not sure what you mean by "the other side," but the most comprehensive look is definitely the 650+ page book by Steve Runge and Chris Fresch, The Greek Verb Revisited , (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2016). You can find out more about it here: https://lexhampress.com/product/53614/the-gree...

The variation in translations (and original language texts) is the reason I suggest you read Hendel's article. Here' the link to a version of it:
