aorist active participle of προβάινω
Hi: I'm going thru Mark Ch 1 and had a question in Mark 1:19 where the word προβὰς appears. Apparently the parsing code for this is pt.aa.nsm (participle.aorist-active.nom-sg-masc). I would form this word as προ + βὰ + ο + ντ + - (which is preposition + "2nd aorist active stem" + connectin...

Re: Acts 28:25-26: τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ἐλάλησεν... λέγων
On another forum, someone raised this verse in Acts 28 in a discussion of constructio ad sensum as regards the Holy Spirit as masculine in concept. My take is that, because the Holy Spirit was talking thru Isaiah, and that it was in fact Isaiah who was speaking, that the participle is referring to ...

Re: aorist active subjunction of λεγω
Thanxs Randall for the guidance - using non-existent words is a bad habit I learned from the "get-go" (and I need to break this bad habit). Oh, btw, it almost sounded like you thought I was teaching Greek? No,no,no,not by a long shot! I've been stuck somewhere between completing basic Gree...

aorist active subjunction of λεγω
Hi: In 1 John 1:8, the verse starts off as ἐὰν εἴπωμεν The word εἴπωμεν is the aorist active subjunctive of λεγω . My understanding is the stem for the aorist active is either *ϝιπ or it is *ιπ If I form the 2nd aorist active subjunctive I would go stem + "lengthen connecting vowel" + &quo...

Re: ANGELO of Rev 2:1
Hi Joe: the reason, in Rev 2:1, it is "Write to (someone)" is because of the presense of the indirect object of the imperative "Write". Rev 2:1 starts off with τῷ ἀγγέλῳ <== this is in the dative (i.e. is the indirect object of a verb, the verb being "Write") The "...

Re: Vocabulary / Week
It would be an interesting statistics on how much time do students spend on classes (by total time I would mean class time, going to prof's office hours, reading textbook, doing homework, prepare for quizzes/exams, ....). It would be an interesting statistic if you polled 1000 students all taking 12...

Re: Vocabulary / Week
Last year I was trying to memorize all words with frequency 15+ (which is about 825 words in the NT). It was taking me about 45min per day. I found out that I had to review all 825 words every 10 days to get 90% correct (for example if I went every 20 days to review all 825 words I would be down to ...
