Re: Meta Language
For some words we may want to use modern Greek. I am pretty sure that μορφολογία exists in modern Greek, though I haven't checked nor do I know its history. A good place to start is ἡ τέχνη (ὁ Διονύσιος ὁ θρᾷξ) εὐχαριστῶ σοι ! I'll look into ὁ Διονύσιος ὁ θρᾷξ. I had been thinking to use μορφολογία...

Re: Meta Language
Hi Randall, May I suggest using Greek metalanguage? I have actually been trying to pick up some of the Greek metalanguage from the BLC notes I have which you wrote. I am wondering if there is a more expanded source. There are some notes in the colloquia but not very extensive, though I haven't got v...

Re: Romans 1:3. Own translation. Grammar check
But might one not just say "... who descended from the line of David ..." and carry the intent perfectly well ? Spacing before punctuation... I resist the temptation to modify the post. What if Paul intended a double entendre in the minds of his readers that would be missed by rendi...

Re: Romans 1:3. Own translation. Grammar check
Hi David, Are you trying to translate or commentate ? The position of your parenthetical suggests modification of, or commentary upon, "seed". If the seed is dead nothing comes out of it. Dispensing with the parenthetical, the English is unnatural, but it can be understood. But might one n...

I'm happy to see you keep posting them Matthew.Matthew Longhorn wrote: ↑September 26th, 2020, 4:39 am
Sorry if folk think I am spamming with these recent book postings. I checked recently whether I should be posting these as I find them and was told it was fine. Figured people may find them interesting/useful and may not know about them

Thanx Matthew, I'll take a look. I assume it's not really a paper from the futureMatthew Longhorn wrote: ↑September 18th, 2020, 12:02 pm If you mean a paper you can read in that time, give this one a bash; It’s a 2024 paper by Wilson who pioneered the theory
