Re: In Romans 1:7, "called to be saints" or "invited, holy"?
For myself, at this point, think Jonathon's caveat is probably the most important consideration. The question probably cannot be settled grammatically. It is more settled by how one understands the thrust of what Paul is saying. I'm happy to leave it at that for this context. Thanks for the input.

Sorry, I meant to post a different post, more relevant. I'm not posting it now, though, because it is way too technical.

Okay, I've come to a "conclusion" of the matter and have written it up as an answer to a related question regarding Romans 1:17, here:

My current understanding of what, for example, John 3:16 has as the referent for KOSMOS is from this OT passage: Gen 35:11 KJV - And God said unto him, I [am] God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; IE: Israel...

Re: In Habakkuk 2:4 LXX, what does ἐκ πίστεώς μου tell us?
Actually, it's still a bit mysterious to me. I would have expected Paul or have a cook (spell checker's take on Habakkuk) to have used dia and that's how most translate it). What does ek tell us here?
