I think that both of these are only valid in some curcumstances
  • I didn't wash my hair but just my face. (DL) When there was an expectation that both might be washed
    It was my hair I washed, not my face. (CC) When there had been some misunderstanding or similar
Those are interesting renderings, but what really matters is whether or not the Greek is just everyday Greek or is it emphatic or stylised in some way?
