How about this for a translation?

I'm somewhat confused about the syntactical function of ἄν here; Is it intended to imply, "I would have told you ... "? or "those who would never have repented"? I take it does not refer to the final phrase and mean "things things that would have happened." I suspect we have a case here of the fallacy of the inclusive ἁν. :D

That's the funniest thing I've read on B-Greek for a long time ...

Perhaps we should take this further in the composition sub-forum. The fate of ἄν in syntactic transforms from conditional sentences to articular participles?

  • Σκροῦγε: Oh no Ghost not this, please!
Ghost: Yes, Σκροῦγε, you see these ones who keep trying to line up the funny looking words with the other ones.
Σκροῦγε: I've seen too much already!
Ghost: Do you remember what they kept saying to you?
    Σκροῦγε: …… ohhhhhhhh ….
Ghost: They said, “We can’t remember 67 kinds of genitive!” didn’t they? And what did you say, Σκροῦγε?
    Σκροῦγε: …… No please ….
Ghost: Yes. You said, “They have their interlinears, don’t they? Let them go to their interlinears!”
