Ὀψίας ... γενομένης (passim)

Post by Stephen Hughes »

Presumably ὁψία is a period of time within which activities can take place, while ἑσπέρα is a point in time which can be used to measure the progress of the diurnal cycle. That being said, I have a few questions about that in Jerusalem.

Is ὁψία a time of the natural day or to a period in which human activities are carried out?

How long is the twilight in Jerusalem? How long can human activity be carried out in natural light after the sun finished setting?
