ἑλκύσειν "drag"/"draw" of rhythmic movements

It seems that besides the frequent occurence of ἑλκύσειν being used of things that require quite some force, it is often used of rythmic movements - drag and stop drag and stop, movements with an opposite movement that after doing it requires one to ἑλκύσειν again for the next time - rather than a nice constant and smooth movement. It seems multidimentional, not always a lot of force nor always rhythmic.

Is the (quite frequent) rhytmic nature of ἑλκύσειν conincidental or significant enough to warrant a mention?
