"Children's bible" greek

Post by tbrown3470 » December 10th, 2012, 10:12 pm

In English, we have many resources for growing in our English reading ability. Our kids read "kid versions" of everything from Homer to Twain. Various "children's bibles" have been popular for a long time. So I was thinking, what if we had Bible stories in simplified Koine Greek? My own greek is not up to the task without a lot of effort, but a community might be ale to make a lot of progress.

For example, I took an hour to run through Matthew 1:18-25 - an easy passage already - to see if I could smooth difficult grammar and change participles to simple verbs, etc. what do you think? I'm a little stuck in verse 18 on simplifying μνηστευθείσης. I thought of "ετοιμάζει γαμείν" or something but is that simpler? I left the rest of v18 for now.
