Readers Edition of 1 Apocryphal Apocalypse of John

Post by RickBrannan »

I've recently published a Readers Edition of the First Apocryphal Apocalypse of John (1AAJn or 1 Apocr. Apoc. Jn.). It is a question-and-answer apocalypse that has much in common with the NT book of Revelation. It was likely written sometime between the 5th-8th centuries, but its vocabulary is very similar to the Greek New Testament. It also has quotations from Psalms and various NT books. If your Greek vocabulary is largely New Testament but you want to read outside of that corpus, 1AAJn could be a good option for you.

The Readers Edition notes each word that occurs 30x or less in the Greek New Testament. The notes provide part of speech, lemma/dictionary form, occurrence count from NT, and an English gloss. An English translation is also available (not as a diglot, but in the section after the Greek text). A short glossary of all noted words is also included.
