Greek Grammars in Spanish, French, Italian

Post by Evan Blackmore »

Some years ago I picked up a secondhand copy of Abel's Grammaire du grec biblique. I was doubtful about getting it, but rather to my surprise, I've occasionally found it quite helpful, as it contains some useful material not included in any of the big reference grammars in English and German.

This has made me wonder: what are the other standard reference grammars (of either Classical or Biblical Greek) in the Romance languages (Spanish, French, Italian...)? I'm fairly familiar with the resources available in German & English, but I don't know so much about what exists in other Western European languages.

Note that my question is about reference grammars, not teaching grammars.

Evan, I have put together a bibliography of Spanish resources on my blog. Most of them will not apply to what you are looking for. But be sure to check out those like 4, 6, 28, and 31.

Thanks Thomas, that's an excellent list and very helpful (not only the grammars!). I greatly appreciate the work you've put into it.
