How does one mark up a text to be used in a tree program?
Assuming one wants to put a text into the same format that the NT trees are in, to be able to be searched either together with the texts of the NT corpus or separately using the Trees program, what needs to be done to the text to make it compatible with the existing material?

First off, there are at least three high quality syntax trees for the NT, in different formats. Unfortunately, the tools used for the GBI trees are not open source, and the lowfat trees are derived from them using XSLT transformations - these aren't really things you can do easily without writing tools.Stephen Hughes wrote:How does one mark up a text to be used in a tree program?

Arethusa has tools for creating dependency trees, I'm pretty sure the PROIEL software includes a treebank editor, there are also treebank editors for other models.
