The Natural Language Toolkit (nltk) is a Python module for research and development in natural language processing and text analytics. It also has accompanying linguistic data produced by the software. The module is complemented by a free book, Natural Language Processing with Python, published by O'Reilly.

I was actually thinking of buying the book after encountering it in a a bookstore, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it is free, and nltk is open source. It seems that there could be very useful application of this software in analyzing New Testament and related Greek writings. Is anyone aware of nltk being used for linguistic research in New Testament Greek studies?
