I read a blog comment on website which used το βλογ as a transliteration for "blog." That got me thinking. I think ο δικτυλογος would be a good translation of "blog." Thoughts?

Hi, Nathan,
δικτυλόγος is an excellent rendering of blog. Cf. δικτυβάλος, a fisherman.

Maybe... but ancient Greek was also not averse to borrowings. Generally a word closely associated with a concept coming from another linguistic/cultural matrix will tend to be simply that word appropriately modified for the new language. τὸ βλόγ, τοῦ βλόγ... would work just fine, though I agree that the translation suggestion sounds plausible as well.

Is there a Greek word for a pile of papyrus scraps?
