BRE Canadian Bible College
MDiv Canadian Theological Seminary
I've pastored a number of churches and for 15 years taught in a Bible College as well as being Academic Dean
The job of an Academic Dean is to give everyone the courses he/she wants and then pick up the left-overs himself.
I always kept the Greek class, but taught theology, Bible courses, history of missions, English lit and grammar, homiletics, pastoral ministry, ethics, and even "Women in ministry" (only for one semester until I could convince someone else to take it).
My approach in teaching Greek was based on the fact that most of the students were deficient in English grammar and were apprehensive about the dreaded Greek course which was a requirement of all pastoral students. As a result my notes were as simple as I could make them. In this way I tended to avoid some of the technical terms. But where that was not feasible, I tried to explain them in basic English with several examples. My notes can be found at
Since retirement, I've been working on a few Greek projects:
A Koine Bible (both NT and LXX) for the Kindle in MOBI format. If you want a free copy, drop me a note.
An HTML NT, LXX, Apocrypha, and Early Church writings with hyperlinks to a lexicon. Thus for each word there is a link to the lexicon. The idea is that I want people to begin to read the text. When they come across a new word, one click will give the meaning and the parsing. In this way readers can quickly get back to the text to continue reading. To expect someone to read the text with a couple of paper lexicons (BAGD and analytical) is an unreasonable expectation for most people. It is no wonder that so many Greek students have lost the love for the language after leaving school. This HTML file can be found at
It is currently a work in progress. I'm adding a feature that by hovering over a word, its meaning appears. I have about a quarter of a million words left to complete.
Oh yes, I wrote a novel and have the largest automotive dictionary on the net as well as the history of each model of Cadillac, Corvette, Firebird, and Honda motorcycles. http://www.motorera.com
Please introduce yourself here, if you haven't already.
