Hi, I am a native greek speaker, and I want to focus on koine greek. My goal is not only to read the texts (which I can already with reasonable ease) but to be able to remember/learn/recognise grammar and syntax, and to develop active skills. To be able to write and compose texts. What better way than to study the biblical texts?
I have had some years of ancient greek at school, but that was ages ago.
Fortunately I don't have to struggle with alphabet, vocabulary etc... except many words have a different meaning in modern greek so I do have to look out for unseen traps I have decided to forget I am a native speaker and approach this as if I know nothing (as much as possible), otherwise this can lead into the most unbelievable linguistic messes (that is: me composing texts that are neither biblical nor modern).
My accent is modern, but I can understand other pronounciations as well.
I can't wait to start reading this forum, and I am very happy to have found like minded people, who love biblical greek.
