My name is Refe (pronounced reef), and I have been studying Greek independently for about a year now. I have a passion for the language, as I would imagine many here do, and spend every moment (and every dollar) I can on my studies. I've worked through Mounce, and Wallace, and currently Porter's Idioms, along with a host of other resources.
I have recently been spending quite a bit of time with the Apostolic Father's collection, using them as an inductive textbook of sorts to deepen my knowledge of grammar and syntax in concert with BDAG and the reference grammars. It has taken me further than the textbooks could ever hope to, and I recommend everyone do something similar. I am also excited to be starting to teach Greek to a group of ambitious sunday-schoolers ages 8-11, and taking them through the Gospel of John in Greek.
I maintain a blog at http://www.GreekingOut.com that is geared primarily toward beginning and intermediate students (I'm certainly not qualified to do much else). I discuss my own learning experiences and share tools and methods that I have found helpful or that have been recommended to me by others. It is a much less formal environment than B-Greek.
I look forward to learning together!
Refe
