Greetings,
I found this website during my search for the right place to begin learning Koine Greek. Long story short, I am a sinner saved by the grace of God in my LORD Jesus Christ, and want to begin reading and studying the texts of the New Testament from the Koine Greek. I want to share whatever I learn with my family and any other Believers who could be encouraged in the sincerity and truth of the Scriptures. I have no experience of my own, and I'm very ignorant of Greek. I'm all ears to anyone who can/will help me in this effort.
Agape,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Where are you starting from? Do you know the alphabet? Can you read sentences out loud?

Hello Jonathan,
No I do not know the alphabet or how to speak yet. I just began reading the first lesson on the website yesterday, so I am beginning to study the alphabet and pronounciation of the language. It is very interesting and I'm excited to learn more.
See you around,
Mike

What resources are you using to learn the alphabet?

Sofar I have only read "1.alphabet" found on this link. I have no hard copy books/dictionaries/etc. I have literally just begun looking at the Greek using the information found on this site. Do you recommend anything to start with?

I think I would prefer Micheal Palmer's grammar, which you can find here:majames13 wrote:http://www.ibiblio.org/koine/greek/lessons/

For pronunciation, there has to be a really good Youtube video, but you have to pick a pronunciation. I would recommend either modern or restored pronunciation, and they are similar. Maybe the gang can help us find the best youtube video or other resource for the alphabet? Recommendations, anyone?

This is a clear modern pronunciation of the Greek alphabet showing the letters as they are pronounced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FyEWbwBarQJonathan Robie wrote:For pronunciation, there has to be a really good Youtube video, but you have to pick a pronunciation.
