Hello. I am 67 YO, retired from teaching math. Now I want to read Hellenistic Greek texts, including the Bible in Greek (the Septuagint, and NT in reliable recension). I have a Mac computer, and would like recommendation for a good software program that has a database of texts by Sophocles, Homer, Aristotle, Plato, Philo, the New Testament text, and the Septuagint. Is there such a system for purchase? I want to be able not just to read a text but to search it for words and phrases that may occur in it. Is such a system available?

I don't know of software for purchase, but you would probably be interested in the Perseus website
http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/
which aims to make a complete collection of all Greek texts prior to Alexander, and as many as possible post-Alexander.
Go http://catalog.perseus.org/ here to search the catalog
and http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/col ... reco-Roman for a lsit of thier Greek and Roman materials
For the GNT and LXX another very useful online resource is
http://GreekDoc.com John Barach's website
