Logged out every time

Postby Dave Soemarko » August 4th, 2011, 7:12 pm

Hi, why is it that I get logged out every time I close my browser? I have checked the checkbox for keeping me logged in. This is not happening on other forums that I visit/join, so I know it is not that my browser doesn't allow cookies. Is there anything else I need to set?

Thanks.

I have the same issue. I've checked "Log me on automatically each visit" but I still have to log on every time. Thanks for asking...

OK, I see that there's a real problem, and it actually is cookie related. I'll look into this when I have time, but that won't be for at least a week. I assume this is not a severe problem for anyone.

speaking for myself only, it's approximately number 9,998 on my list of 10,000 computer issues. :-) still, I do appreciate your looking into it.

It also logs you out even in the same session, if you log in to the admin cp or mod cp and then return to the board.

Is this cookie issue easy to fix? Having to log in almost every time, even when I keep a tab open, makes the user experience less good.

I don't know how to fix it, or how long it would take me to figure out how to fix it. I can try to look at it next week, today doesn't work.

I don't know whether this helps or not, but I have continued to use the original URL
<http://www-test.ibiblio.org/bgreek/forum/ >
and have found myself always automatically logged in, but whenever I've used the "newer" URL
<http://ibiblio.org/bgreek/forum/>
the automatic login doesn't work. Consequently I keep using the older/original URL that works. I wonder whether the problem has something to do with the shift from "www.test" to "www." in the URL doesn't have something to do with the problem.
