Anyone even casually intrigued by Patristic exegesis may find this book fascinating. By all means get it from a library. Tzamalikos explores the intertexuality of this text in several layers of exegesis. In regard to intertexuality it could be compared to David Aune's three volume work on the Apocalypse.

Panayiotis Tzamalikos, the editor and translator of An Ancient Commentary on the Book of Revelation, explains his work on the Scholia in Apocalypsin.

An excerpt from Scholia on Rev 5:8 {Not the most lucid sample.}
Tzamalikos' translation:
Viles full of incense are the intellects of those who earnestly pray to Christ. You could also render the harps as the power of these people, which is artistically and harmoniously adapted within themselves: by virtue of this [power] they recognize and love Christ.
Tzamalikos' notes on the text and his exegesis of the Scholia reminds me of R. H. Charles on Revelation.
