For a beginner, I think the best thing to do is get:

- A grammar - I nominate this one: http://www.amazon.com/Learn-Read-New-Te ... 805444939/. Use the hardback, not the Kindle edition, which has unreadable fonts. Get the workbook too.
- A handbook that carefully examines the text you are reading. I nominate the Baylor handbooks.
