λαλῶ is a verb of expression, the content of what he said is not the direct object of λαλῶ. I am trying to find a sentence that uses the accusative the way you propose for τὴν ἀρχὴν here. Can you give me another example that uses the accusative this way?
ἐξίσταντο δὲ πάντες καὶ διηποροῦντο, ἄλλος πρὸς ἄλλον λέγοντες, τί θέλει τοῦτο εἶναι;
