GNT books from easiest to hardest

Post by D Ryan Lowe » June 25th, 2012, 1:56 am

I'm hoping to read the entire Greek New Testament, and would like to start with the easier books and work my way up, starting with 1 John and ending with the hardest books, like Hebrews or Luke-Acts.

If you were to order the books of the Greek New Testament from easiest to read to hardest to read, how would you order them?

Here's my ranking, from easiest to hardest:

1 John
Gospel of John
Matthew / Mark
Luke / Acts
Letters of Paul (Galatians is easiest, Colossians and Ephesians perhaps hardest)
Peter, Jude, The Revelation

Your mileage may vary.

I think Revelation is easy Greek. Its interpretation is difficult, but that has nothing to do with the Greek language being difficult.

1st John may be the "easiest", but I think it would be most beneficial to a new Greek reader to start with a narrative like Mark.

1 John
