phrase from Hippocrates

I'm reading a book called "The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer" by Siddhartha Muherjee. On p. 52 it says:

"To clarify this already foggy theory, Galen had borrowed an equally foggy Hippocratic expression, κατ΄ 'ι'ξιυ -- Greek for "straight into" -- to describe isolating the vessels that led "straight into" tumors."

On the Google Books edition of the book, this same sentence reads:

""To clarify this already foggy theory, Galen had borrowed an equally foggy Hippocratic expression, και ιειυ -- Greek for "straight into" -- to describe isolating the vessels that led "straight into" tumors."

Any idea what the actual Greek expression from Hippocrates might be?

Obviously fonts are messed up somewhere...

Also any tips for how to look this sort of thing up for myself would be most appreciated -- I tried googling around with
Hippocrates Galen "straight into"
but no luck...

Thanks in advance, all. I have cancer myself, and "chemo brain" leaves me few of my customary pastimes.

The expression could be κατ' ἴξιν. Here's the relevant part of the LSJ entry for ἴξις:
2. κατ’ ἴξιν c. gen., corresponding to, on the same side as, ἤλγησεν κατὰ βουβῶνα, σπληνὸς κατ’ ἴ., i.e. on the spleen or left side of the body, Hp.Epid.1.26.γʹ, cf. 4.35,37, Art.33, Fract.16, 18, Mul.1.17; τῶν ὀδόντων τῶν τε ἄνω καὶ τῶν κάτω κατ’ ἴ. Id.Art.31; = ex ipsa parte, Cass.Fel.37; ἐν πυρετοῖσι ἀπὸ σπληνὸς καὶ ἥπατος διὰ ῥινῶν αἱμορραγέουσι, κατ’ ἴ. τοῦ σπλάγχνου τοῦ μυκτῆρος ῥέοντος the nostril corresponding to the organ in question, Aret.SA 2.2; ἡ κατ’ ἴ. κληίς the corresponding (i.e. liver or right side) collarbone, ib.2.7, cf. CA1.10; κατὰ τὴν ὄπισθεν ἴ. at the back of the leg, Hp.Art.60.

Stephen's right. See this page in the works of Hippocrates.

(I tried fixing the BBCode in the previous post, but BBCode just can't seem to handle the Greek text in the link URL )

Without uuencoding it, it works on some browsers but not others.

I was sure I'd thanked y'all for this some time back, but apparently not. thanks so much! I've written the correction into the margin of my book... :-)
