I'm new here, and new to Greek. I'm learning with the ultimate goal of being able to not only read the GNT, but to do the majority of my NT studying in the Greek. It's a lofty goal, and I realize it will take quite some time. I'm willing to put in the investment

Hi Scott
That is a really good goal in life.

In whatever stage of your life you find yourself, you will still be reading your New Testament. It is a daily activity now, and a hobby for your vacation times, and in your retirement your will still be doing it.

Set yourself 3 - 7 little goals all the time as you study, write them down, and (mentally) tick them off the list as you achieve them and then move on. Remember that your aim is reading so make some of your goals reading goals ("I'm going to read <such and such> phrase / sentence in Greek"). Memorise your favourite verses - already knowing the English will carry your through in the beginning.

Discover whether you are a daily, weekly or a time independent goal setter. Then follow the pattern that suits you best.

Don't overload yourself - relax, sit back, and have fun.
