Post by Jonathan Robie »

This is an unusual phrase, isn't it? ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ would not have surprised me, the Kingdom of God is a common phrase, the Kingdom of Christ and God much less so - does it occur elsewhere?
ἐξίσταντο δὲ πάντες καὶ διηποροῦντο, ἄλλος πρὸς ἄλλον λέγοντες, τί θέλει τοῦτο εἶναι;

I haven't located any other occurrences of του χριστου και θεου in the BMT, TR, or KJV. Vulgate has "in regno Christi et Dei" (in the kingdom of Christ and God) also.

Earlier, the words for "in the kingdom of Christ and God" were penned by Clement of Alexandria (The Instructor III-48, ca. 175-220 CE) and Cyprian (Epistle LI-55, ca. 225-258 CE).
"That upon which you set your heart and put your trust is properly your god." (Martin Luther, Large Catechism 1.1-3)
