Yes. And for us the text, whether from Mark or from Moses, is as current today as the day it was written, because in the words of the text itself:
Hebrews 4:12 wrote: Ζῶν γὰρ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐνεργὴς καὶ τομώτερος ὑπὲρ πᾶσαν μάχαιραν δίστομον καὶ διϊκνούμενος ἄχρι μερισμοῦ ψυχῆς καὶ πνεύματος, ἁρμῶν τε καὶ μυελῶν, καὶ κριτικὸς ἐνθυμήσεων καὶ ἐννοιῶν καρδίας
... which says among other things, that not only do we read the text, but the text reads us.

We are always aware of this strange dichotomy that it has this dimension as well as the dimension of a human language of the Koine Greek era with all that that entails.

This is expressed in terms that not everyone will settled with.

For reading the context, in the case of πλεονεξία, throughout the New Testament, we find a word that is used with negative connotations, but elsewhere it readily has positive ones. It is best not to read anything to simplistic or strongly stated into that, and it is also wrong to read that positive meaning from another context into the New Testament.
Γελᾷ δ' ὁ μωρός, κἄν τι μὴ γέλοιον ᾖ
