You could also use that picture to illustrate η ρις, ρινος. To avoid confusion, maybe it would be better to use a picture of a person pointing to the head or body. (Though of course that could lead to confusion too... :?: No perfect solution, I guess.)

Love the concept though!

Hi, Jonathan,

I really like what you are doing here. When I first started learning Greek, nothing like this was available, and certainly not for free. I think looking at these pictures while reading and speaking the Greek is terrifically helpful for beginners, and even as an advanced learner, I cannot get enough of stuff like this. I'm also looking forward to see what Solomon will come up. Thank you both for your efforts.

I really liked the idea of this when I read it on Daniel Street's blog and I enjoy the pictures so far. But I think that when there is only one main thrust given that they loose some of the immersive qualities that the 1000 word books have with their full scenes with many objects. For instance the image for εἰς τὸ πλοῖον could have words also describing say the dock (which I have no clue what the Greek would be) or the people themselves, ANDRA, GUNH, TEKNA, ANQRWPOI etc. or their clothes etc.

I put together an image more along these lines. I would actually like to do more of them but my vocabulary is so lacking that even this simple picture had to be done with the aid of a 19th century "Greek Vocabulary for Young Boys" systematically ordered.
