Happy Birthday ....

Post by Jonathan Robie »

The B-Greek phpBB forum is now just about exactly 1 year old. As of today, we have:
Total posts 5806 • Total topics 957 • Total members 850
When we first announced the move from a mailing list to a phpBB forum, a lot of people were very concerned. This thread is for reminiscing about the old mailing list, thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of shifting to the new format, wondering whatever happened to some of our old friends, etc.

And also for thanking the incredible team we have here: Mike Aubrey, Randall Buth, Stephen Carlson, Nigel Chapman, Carl Conrad, Barry Hofstetter, Mark Lightman, Micheal Palmer, Jonathan Robie, Steve Runge, and Louis L Sorenson.

Email lists were wonderful in their heyday, but this forum is so much more web-friendly. I find it much easier to read an entire thread on one page than to read one message at a time.

I have to agree. I enjoyed the mailing list when I first started coming online for Greek discussion, but this format is much more friendly (especially with Unicode instead of Beta Code!!).
