σκηνὴ περικομμένη in the Gospel of st. Bartholomew
Does anybody have an idea from which verb is derived the greek participle περικομμένη/περικαμμένη? It is used in the Greek version of the apocryphal Gospel of st. Barholomew, in the part with questions to st. Mary. The whole sentence is κεχαριτωμένη σκηνὴ περικομμένη ἀμόλυντε and it is used as an initiatory when Bartholomew is turning to st. Mary and wants to ask her the questions. I was searching whole day yesterday but haven't found nothing suitable.

It's a perfect passive participle from περικὀπτω.

Well, in modern Greek περικομμένη means "cropped" or "trimmed" or "abridged." As Mark noted, it's from περικόπτω, but the reduplication is missing.Maptina Xpoma wrote:Does anybody have an idea from which verb is derived the greek participle περικομμένη/περικαμμένη?
Τhe reference is to 2:4. There is a string of vocatives: Full of grace, trimmed? tabernacle, immaculate...Maptina Xpoma wrote:It is used in the Greek version of the apocryphal Gospel of st. I should note that the quoted text is from G.N. Bonwetsch, "Die apokryphen Fragen des Bartholomäus," Nachrichten von der königlichen Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften, Philol.-hist. Kl.. Göttingen, 1897: 9-29. I think this is based on the manuscript from Vienna.
E. Tisserant and A. Wilmart, "Fragments grecs et latins de l'Évangile de Barthélemy," Revue Biblique 10 (1913) have a different text here:
χαίροις σοι, σκηνὴ ὑ[ψίσ|του. IIRC, this is from the Jerusalem manuscript.
I think this latter reading is the basis of M.R. James' English translation.

In this context perhaps "pruned" in this sense of "purified"?
