Carl,
        No, my view isn't that Mark's Greek isn't unusual -- only that
it isn't BAD! And it's rather interesting; I find Matthew rather duller
and even drab in his style, compared to Mark.
        On the other hand, I used to tell students that if they turned in
any Greek as dreadful as that of the Apocalypse on their end-of-first-
year exam, they would be flunked by me.
        And of course I TOTALLY agree with your judgment about Mark's
sophisticatd literary quality.
