SESOFISMENOI MUQOI

I am not sure if this is an appropriate subject
for b-greek so before going further maybe Carl
or Jonathan could give a ruling?

Following correspondence with David M on Tartarus
I have been going through the R H Charles version
of Enoch (which of course is based on the Coptic
        text not the Qumran text).

So far I have I think good reason to believe there
        are something approaching 10-15 possible/potential
quotes of Enoch (and anything up to another 30
potential/possible verbal allusions) within 2 Peter
and Jude, obviously some of these are duplicated
        between the two letters.

For example the following invective against the false
teachers seems, both in the imagery and several verbatim
quotes, to be drawn lock stock and barrel from the false
        'Shepherds' in Enoch 96~100.

2Pet 2:17 "These are wells without water clouds that are carried with a
tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with
you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried
about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead,
plucked up by the roots; Jude 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out
their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of
darkness for ever.

Has anyone written a thesis on these similarities?

The interesting thing is that the quotes, when
compared with the context in Enoch appear to be
equating the book with Paul's IOUDAIKOI MUQOI
        in Titus1:14.

Now my problem is that I don't have access to the
Greek text so all this is just idle speculation.

I know Enoch is listed for TLG E (cf Matt24:36)

In the meantime where can I get a paper copy?

If anyone does have a paper copy and has a lot
of time patience and humour, can they look at
the greek of the below (this is one of my 10-15
potential/possible quotes) and see if there is
        any meaningful verbal correspondence:

2Pet 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days
scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 2Pet 3:4 And saying, Where is the
promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things
continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

"From the creation of the world and unto eternity.. . and through that oath
are the depths made fast, and abide and stir not from their place from
eternity to eternity" Enoch 69:18~19 (and surrounding context)

Sorry to bring up another oddity
        Steven
