Jonathan ~
What I am seeing here is two parallel verb indicative systems in the
Greek ~ Each having a past, present and future.
---*---> ------->*
PROGRESSIVE STATIVE
PAST Imperfect Pluperfect
PRESENT Present Perfect
FUTURE Future Future Perfect
The perfect is not a past tense at all, but a present STATIVE verb
tense on this view.
The aorist would then be *-----> in this approach.
This is NOT the way I was taught!!
What think ye??
