Jim,

I always considered the following clause to identify "the truth,
[hO LOGOS hO SOS ALHQEIA ESTIN]. (John 17:17)

In verse 19 Christ is sanctifying himself [hAGIAZW EMAUTON] for them
that they may be sanctified 'EN ALHQEIA'.

It would appear to me that Christ is sanctifying himself by he same
means that his followers are sanctified, considering the pattern
set in verse 18 ... that just as the Father sent Christ into the
world, so too he sends his disciples into the world.
