Jonathan:
ESOMAI 1st person singular future of EIMI
PEPOIQWS Second-Perfect Active Participle of PEIQW
Surely this is another example of a periphrastic future perfect: "I shall
be having trusted in Him". Compare 2 Samuel 22:3 LXX and Isaiah 8:17 LXX.
In 2 Samuel it translates 'eCheSeH-BoW = PEPOIQWS ESOMAI EP' AUTWi; and in
Isaiah it translates WeQiWWeThiY-LoW = KAI PEPOIQWS ESOMAI EP' AUTWi.
Hebrews 2:13b continues the quotation from Isaiah 8:18, so that is the
source quoted by the writer to the Hebrews.
MH FOBOU, MONON PISTEUSON! (Luke 8:50)
