This seems to be a somewhat disingenuous quest. It relies on the unspoken
assumption that someone can produce a translation which is THE authoritative
(?) equivalent of the original text, and that all others, by default, are
faulty. Following from this is the unspoken assumption that such a translation
has not yet been produced, and consequently all the current translations are
flawed. As translators, we, more than simple readers, must recognize how much
of translation is taste and style, beyond grammar and syntax.
