The point with the parallels cites is that you have a construction with two
protases. One of those protases modifies the conditional statement as a
whole. In Matt 19:9, MH EPI PORNEIA (with EAN implied from hOS AN) modifies
the entire hOS AN construction, protasis and apodosis
