I'm looking for input on how
the word "of" is being used in Acts 2:38 in regard to the Holy
Spirit. Is there something in the sentence that would be a cue
of whether Luke is using the word "of" to mean FROM the Holy Spirit or
"of" meaning the Holy Spirit Himself? My contention is tha the
latter, (speaking of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) but others on
another discussion list insist it means "from the Holy Spirit" -
whatever the gift might be. Please contact me privately if this is not the
place to answer. Thank you.God bless,
Roseann Ekman
Thomas St.

Greetings I am looking for input
about the difference in wording between Luke and the other synoptics in
a given passage. My question falls outside the scope of B-Greek. Is
there a list devoted to the synoptic gospels or Lucan literature? If so,
where would I find it? Since this is an
off-topic question, please respond off-list.
But it
may be of interest to others on B-Greek, especially the relative newcomers.

The answer is: yes. Synoptic-L. Owned and co-moderated by B-Greek's own
Mark Goodacre. You'll find information about Synoptic-L and practically all
other academic e-Lists related to biblical studies at
