I started learning Greek with a 1 year (2 semesters) of Introduction to Greek at a Bible College when I lived in a bigger city. I've since taken 2 years of classes, and felt after the third course I was sufficiently "launched" to continue my own reading with a lexicon and a couple other helps. Other members of this group have mentioned it may be more beneficial to start with learning classical (attic) greek before starting NT Greek (koine). I'll let them respond on that topic. For me, it would have been very difficult to begin without the benefit of classroom instruction with a good prof. So the next step would be to see what resources are available in the community you live in and just "do it". :) Greg Kilbrai The Pas, Manitoba, Canada PS. I've never regreted the investment in time and $ to get started. ------Original Message------ From: "Linda L. Can someone tell me how to get started? Or do I just go to the sources to obtain my reading material? I really want to learn because it would be of great help and assistance in reading my Bible. Also, another reason why I want to learn Greek is in my Sunday School class at the church I attend, we are studying how the the "Word" (the Bible) originated and it has come up some words what they were originally in Greek. So you see, I really want to learn. I understand that it is not easy, but learning more about the original Greek would enlighten me as I get deeper into the study of God's Word. Any help anyone can give would be of great assistance. Thank you and God bless everyone for their efforts. Linda L.
