The translations consistently render Mt 28:17b, hOI DE EDISTASAN, as: but some doubted. This seems to suggest this group may be distinct from the aforementioned group of those who AUTON PROSKUNHSAN, or at least be a subset of that group, but certainly not equal to it. Does the construction hOI DE EDISTASAN suggest or imply that the two groups are not necessarily the same? The only other use of the word in Matthew's Gospel is in 14:31 where Peter who did worship the Lord was also rebuked for his doubt. Is it likely that the disciples after the resurrection worshipped Christ, yet also doubted and this is the background for the subsequent words of Christ?
