Stewards of the Land

Description

Stewards of the Land is a multimedia documentary project that was completed in North Carolina’s Central Piedmont Region—an area known as The Triangle. The focus of Stewards of the Land is six small-scale farmers who are profiled using photographs, audio documentary, and short pieces of writing. In addition, their work is contextualized through a series of articles examining sustainable agriculture in the area, the state of North Carolina, and the country as a whole. The Triangle—anchored by the cities of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill—is known for its vibrant network of organic and sustainable farms that supply the community with locally grown food nearly year-round.
