                        ANGELO
                Seems like a nice chap/lady.

                        JACK
                S/he is.

                        ANGELO
                And what else about him/her?

                        JACK
                What do you mean?

                        ANGELO
Don't do this to me, Jack.

                        JACK
                Do what?

                        ANGELO
You two were up to something.

                        JACK
                I've known Brad/Brenda for years.

                        ANGELO
Up to something I should know about,
this is what I am feeling now. What
is it I should know about, Jack?

                        JACK
                S/he owes me some money.

                        ANGELO
                S/he is a valued customer?

                        JACK
Customer of what? -- but, yeah,
                s/he does owe me money.

                        ANGELO
You didn't seem like someone cashing
in the check, Jack. You didn't look
                angry, you looked scared.

                        JACK
Nothing for me to be scared about, Angelo.

                        ANGELO
                Are we friends, Jack?

                        JACK
                I think so, yeah.

                        ANGELO
You're not so sure, are you?

                        JACK
I mean, sure, I like you, Angelo, you
know that, so of course we're friends,
but it's not like with Brad/Brenda, someone I
                went to school with.

                        ANGELO
I'll tell you something. It wouldn't be hard
to collect from you, Jack. Hypothetically, I
mean. It wouldn't be hard at all, if you get
my drift. If you owe me, you owe me, and I
have no choice but to collect.

                        JACK
                I don't owe you a dime.

                        ANGELO
Polo thinks you have high ideas, like
maybe going into business for yourself,
if you know what I mean.

                        JACK
I tried to explain about Polo. He's mad
I was late with his money, he'll say
                anything.

                        ANGELO
He says a lot about you, Jack.

                        JACK
I can't stop him. And if I go into business,
I'd say that's my concern, Angelo, not yours.

                        ANGELO
                Don't do me that way.

                        JACK
So what if I'm in business? There's lots of room for
everybody, Angelo. You don't seem like the kind of
guy who'd get reckless by getting greedy.

                        ANGELO
                I'm never reckless, Jack.

                        JACK
                And neither am I.

                        ANGELO
Why do I think you're being reckless? Explain
                me that.

                        JACK
I'm not a shrink, Angelo. You got a problem,
I don't have the kind of couch you need.

                        ANGELO
                Are you challenging my territory?

                        JACK
I live in my territory -- born and raised.

                        ANGELO
Being reckless could cost you your life.

                        JACK
Don't threaten me, Angelo. My territory
                is small potatoes.

                        ANGELO
For your sake, Jack, I hope that is not
what you're are doing. It's the principle
                involved.

                        JACK
I'm not doing anything you should be worried
                about.

                        ANGELO
Can I help it? I'm a born worrier. I worry
                about you, Jack.

                        JACK
I think the world's big enough for both of us.

                        ANGELO
                I hope so, Jack.

                        JACK
Listen, I think I should join the guests. This
is a special day for my sister.

                        ANGELO
A good idea, since you will bring the
bride my way, so we can have a little
                private talk together.  You remember?

                        JACK
                I'll do my best.

                        ANGELO
More than your best -- you'll do it.

                        JACK
                You coming?

                        ANGELO
                Why not?
