IT’S BEEN DONE

By Charles Deemer

Why didn’t you do the things that you should have at the time that you should have had them done?

Why did you treat me like some kind of prisoner lined before the barrel of your silent gun?

But still I don’t mind

I feel like being kind

It’s been done

Do you really think that all this screaming and hollering is really nothing more or less than carrying on?

And that every disagreement is as harmless as its treatment and in the end all we pigeons become swans?

Well, I don’t mind

I feel like being kind

It’s been done

I like you for yourself and all the dust upon your shelf and all of yesterday’s ideas that fill you head

It takes all kinds to make a world and that includes both you and me as well as all the living and the dead

If we’re different, I don’t mind

I feel like being kind

It’s been done

You know I have a theory that this world is going to end when all this constant constipation is released

All the things we don’t admit are going to flow and make us wet until we’re drowning in our conscience on the streets

And we can’t swim, but I don’t mind

I feel like being kind

It’s been done

There’s just one thing that worries me enough to mention to you cause this thing it keep me staring every night

Every time I pick my nose or put a hard-on in my clothes or tell it like it is you get up tight

But I’m going to keep my mind

And treat you very kind

It’s been done
