The Weakly Anemic

From September 4 to 12, 1945, the 45th Infantry Division, including the 45th Signal Company, sailed from Le Havre, France to Boston, Massachusetts aboard the Madawaska Victory (603 Madawaska Victory, VC2-S-AP2/WSAT (1597)/USAT). The 45th Signal Company helped publish a shipboard newsletter, "The Weakly Anemic".  Four editions were found in my late father's collection.

The Weakly Anemic web pages are dedicated to Andy Beck, the son of the late Captain Bernard Beck, the last commanding officer of the 45th Signal Company during World War Two.

Capt. Beck was transferred to the 45th Signal Company from the 103d Signal Company in July, 1945. His son Andy and I share an interest in researching, preserving, and sharing our fathers' experiences. Andy has written a history of the 103d Signal Company and plans to include reproductions from The Weakly Anemic in a future edition.
