On Armistice Day, November 11, 1918, Philip Lovetere's and Company C, 1st Battalion 64th Infantry Regiment, 14th Infantry Brigade of the 7th Infantry Division were behind the front in a support position at Thiaucourt, France, just west of the Moselle River between St. Mihiel and Metz.
