Mary Jane Clark writes what she knows. Since her emergence on the media-thriller scene in 1998, Mary Jane has been praised for her ability to use insider knowledge of the news business to create action and intrigue in her novels.

"Clark knows the industry well and her expertise adds realism to the tale."
- Publisher's Weekly

"The secrets and surprises just keep coming and make perfect sense in the TV media world that Mary Jane Clark has absolutely nailed."
- Janet Evanovich, author of
Four to Score

And an insider, she is. Mary Jane is a writer and producer at CBS News' New York City headquarters, where she began her television career as a desk assistant after graduating with a degree in political science from the University of Rhode Island in 1976.
Mystery buffs may note a familiar ring to Mary Jane Clark's name. It's no secret: Mary Jane is the former daughter-in-law of world-famous spinner of suspense, Mary Higgins Clark. Mary Higgins Clark called Mary Jane's first book: "A polished page-turner with a smart, appealing TV anchorwoman as the main character."
Although Mary Jane relishes her job as a TV news producer and, more recently, a mystery-writer, her most challenging and rewarding role is being Mom. Her daughter Elizabeth, 16, and son David, 11, are sources of endless inspiration and joy. The family lives together in a New Jersey suburb.
