Robinson (Pacific) and World War Two, and the immigrant experiences of Angelina and Leonardo Giordano and Philip Lovetere (from Sicily), and Felix J. Cizewski (from Poland then part of Tsarist Russia). The collection includes original primary source documents and personal stories.

A UNC course exploring the life, works and acts of Mohandas Gandhi. We attempt to evaluate Gandhi on his own terms; we try to tell his story by looking at his works and acts. By doing so, we try to gain an understanding of what motivated him to act, what constituted(/and constitutes) Gandhian philosophy, and whether we can emulate his means of initiating political change through "satyagraha" - truth struggle - and "ahimsa" - non violence - today. We engage in a dialogue with Gandhi to understand our own lives, times and crises.

Sherig - Tibetan Children's Educational and Welfare Fund
The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (commonly known as the Tibetan Government-in-Exile) oversees the welfare and educational needs of all Tibetan children in India, Nepal and Bhutan. Through joint efforts with the Indian government and with autonomous organizations within the community, today all Tibetan refugee children attend school receiving a modern education in addition to learning their language, history, and literature and about their culture.
